The 9060 and the 1906R are the two New Balance pairs we get asked about most. They look related, but they feel quite different on foot.
New Balance 9060: chunky and bold
The 9060 takes its look from New Balance’s 99X running line and exaggerates it: a big, wavy sole, layered suede and mesh, and a rounded shape that stands out. It is cushioned and comfortable for long days in the city.
Pick the 9060 if you like a statement sneaker that works with wide trousers, joggers and oversized fits.
New Balance 1906R: sleek and sporty
The 1906R brings back a mid-2000s running shoe. It is lower and slimmer than the 9060, with metallic overlays and a technical, Y2K runner look.
Pick the 1906R if you want something lighter-looking that still feels sporty, especially in silver and grey colourways.
How do they fit?
Both fit true to size. The 9060 feels a little roomier because of its wider sole; the 1906R has a closer, sock-like fit.
